Beograd, Serbia

One visit I won't forget... beautiful city and friendly cheerful people (despite their troubled past) and the birthplace of my girlfriend :). I spent 7 days in Belgrade and enjoyed every moment of it!

Belgrade is the capital and largest city of Serbia (population ~ 1,6 million).  Located in the south-eastern part of Europe in the Balkan Peninsula, at the confluence of the Sava and Danube (Donau) rivers.

It is one of the oldest cities in Europe. Since ancient times it has been an important intersection of transportation  between Eastern and Western Europe.

Belgrade is the capital of Serbian culture, education, science and economy. As a result of its tumultuous history, a lot nations have been living in Belgrade for centuries, and Serbs of Orthodox christian religion are the majority of population (90%). The official language is Serbian.
